Akiko (Mai Fukagawa), who used to be a star, now just lives a normal life. She works at a company and keeps telling herself that she is happy and that today will be a good one. One day, she walks to work and falls down. She gets stuck and can’t move.

This makes Akiko lose her mind, and she chooses to quit her job. Akiko doesn’t have a job or a boyfriend right now, and she only has 100,000 yen (about $700 USD) in her bank account.

Her friend then tells her that she should move in with 56 year old salaryman Sasapon (Arata Iura), who lives alone in his house in Tokyo. When she goes to see Sasapon, he lets her stay at his house as long as she stays there until he retires. Their strange way of life starts.
