Thomas Ravenel is an American reality TV star and former politician. He was born in Charleston, South Carolina, on August 11, 1962. Ravenel became well-known after being on the reality TV show “Southern Charm,” which ran from 2014 to 2018.
Before becoming a reality TV star, Ravenel worked in business and politics. In 1985, he got his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Citadel, a military college in South Carolina. Then, after college, he worked in real estate for a while.
In 2006, Ravenel entered the political arena and was elected as the state treasurer of South Carolina. However, he resigned from his position in 2007 after pleading guilty to cocaine possession. Ravenel later ran as an independent for the U.S. Senate from South Carolina in 2014, even though this defeat. He ultimately lost in the general election.
