Mohamed Muizzu is a politician from the Maldives who served as the eighth President of the Maldives. After winning the race for president, he started working on November 17, 2023.
Muizzu is known for supporting China and his campaign slogan, “India Out,” which was meant to criticize what he saw as too much Indian control in the Maldives. He wanted Indian troops to leave the Maldives while he was president, which made things tense between the Maldives and India.
Muizzu had many jobs in both the public and private areas before he became President. He got his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Civil Engineering from the University of Leeds in the UK and worked as a civil engineer. In the Maldives, Muizzu also held important jobs in political parties.
